Hello and welcome to my website.
My name is Vicki and I am an integrative counsellor, hypnotherapist and supervisor, who offers a professional, supportive, safe, warm and confidential space for one to one counselling, hypnotherapy and supervision sessions, within Widnes, St Helens and surrounding areas.
As an integrative counsellor I don’t believe in one size fits all and I will adapt my way of working to meet your individual needs. You will be listened to, accepted and respected. I will not judge you or tell you what to do, however I will support you to work through any difficulties you may be experiencing at a pace comfortable for you.
I am an accredited counsellor registered with the National Council of Psychotherapists (NCP) where I adhere to their Code of Conduct and I hold an Enhanced DBS. I am committed to supporting you to the very best of my abilities and for this reason I undertake regular professional development and I regularly attend supervision to aid good practice.
My journey to becoming a qualified counsellor and hypnotherapist started in 2012, but before I became a counsellor I spent time serving in the Royal Navy and then many years working within the childcare sector. However it was through my own personal journey, accessing counselling to work through my own difficult life experiences and gaining insight into myself awareness, which wasn’t easy at times. My personal experience and understanding just how difficult it was making sense of my thoughts and feelings inspired me to be there for others, and I realised how passionate I was about becoming a counsellor, supporting you through your very own journey. From this I embarked on the Level 2 Counselling Concepts and on completing this I went onto the Level 3 Counselling Skills. During the level 2 and 3 courses I worked as a volunteer completing 400+ hours within a Women’s Mental Health Charity supporting positive mental health for women. After completing the Level 3 I enrolled at Riverside College/Staffordshire University and went onto complete and qualify from the Foundation Degree in Counselling and the BSc (Hons) in counselling. While completing these courses I embarked on the Diploma in Hypnotherapy, to go side by side with my counselling skills and gained a Diploma in Working Therapeutically with Children and Young People. I also hold a Certificate in Supervision providing supervision on a one to one basis to both trainee and qualified counsellors.
As well as running my private practice as a counsellor, hypnotherapist and supervisor, I currently work for the mental health charity Mind Halton as the counselling lead, successfully managing over 30 counsellors both qualified and students. I also volunteer as a counsellor at Mind Halton, gaining lots of experience supporting adults with various experiences. I currently deliver a Resilience, Confidence, Anxiety, Stress and Managing your Emotions courses for Mind Halton. I am passionate about reducing the stigma and discrimination and raising awareness surrounding mental health, so through this I co-facilitate in delivering Mental Health Awareness courses to various organisations. I am also the Time to Change Halton Hub Coordinator which is a social movement that tackles mental health stigma within the Halton area.
Being a counsellor, hypnotherapist and supervisor is what I am passionate about and I feel honoured and privileged to be able to support you on your journey.
